Ilan joined A. Farber & Partners Inc. in early 2012.  He became a licensed Trustee in Bankruptcy in 2005 and, prior to joining our firm, he practiced as a Trustee in Bankruptcy at a major accounting firm in Canada.

Drawing on his background in corporate and personal insolvency and restructuring, Ilan provides comprehensive due diligence solutions to his clients’ management teams to help them accurately assess risks in their investment decisions.  Ilan is able to improve clarity on both financial and operational aspects of target acquisitions, including the quality and sustainability of earnings, achievability of forecasts, identification of profit and cash flow drivers, and capability analysis of the target’s management.

In addition to his insolvency and restructuring experience, Ilan also has experience in providing transaction-related services including due diligence, corporate finance, and mergers & acquisitions support to mid-market enterprises.

Ilan earned his Honours BCom degree at the University of South Africa, majoring in Accounting and Auditing, before completing his South African Chartered Accountant designation in 1998 and his Canadian Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1999.  He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO), and the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP).
